Prior to the course:
Documents
If you have completed a prerequisite AQ through any institution offering AQ courses, UOIT must be able to verify proof of the course on OCT's Public Register at www.oct.ca/pubreg/en/prinfo_e.asp, showing that the prerequisite has been added to your records at the college.
Registration
We will confirm registration the
week following the application deadline date. If we are unable to process your application for any reason, you will receive an e-mail from us. It is imperative that you return our e-mail promptly so we can ensure your application is processed.
Note: If you have not received a confirmation of registration by e-mail one week prior to the start of the program, please contact the Faculty of Education.

Cancellations and/or Program Changes
The Faculty of Education at UOIT reserves the right to combine and/or cancel program offerings due to insufficient enrolment and to change locations and/or dates in exceptional circumstances. Decisions to cancel programs will be made as soon as possible after the applicable final deadline dates. Although we notify registered candidates of any program changes, candidates are advised to verify program details on this website just prior to the start of class or to call the Faculty of Education at 905.721.8668 ext. 2892. Early registration reduces the possibility of program cancellation.
QECO/OSSTF
If you are applying to an AQ program to satisfy a QECO/OSSTF requirement, you are advised to obtain written approval from QECO/OSSTF for your program selections before applying. The QECO/OSSTF approval process takes approximately
two months to complete.
QECO/OSSTF may not accept a copy of the letter that is issued to you by this office as proof of successful completion. Please check with QECO/OSSTF and if something more formal is required, please contact the Faculty of Education at 905.721.8668 ext 2892
During the Course:
Attendance
Full attendance and regular participation in class and online (where applicable) throughout the entire program is required. This only aids in the entire experience for both you and your classmates. Please contact your instructor as soon as possible if, due to exceptional circumstances, you must miss any class time. Make-up work may be required. If you do not satisfy the attendance and participation policy requirements, we will be unable to recommend you for additional qualification to the Ontario College of Teachers.
Withdrawing from an AQ/ABQ
If you wish to withdraw from the class at any point after your application has been received, you must fill out an add/drop form and return it to the Registrar's office. Please click here to go to the Withdrawal and Refund page.
Location:
Unless otherwise noted, all face to face classes as of September 2008 will take place at the new Faculty of Education Building in Oshawa. The address is 11 Simcoe Street North, Oshawa, Ontario L1H 7L7
After the Course:
Final grades
Once your course is completed, you may access your final grades through MyCampus. Please go to http://www.uoit.ca/mycampus/ and sign in using the student number and password that you were given at the beginning of your course. Once signed in, you will need to:
1. go to the student information screen
2. then student records
3. and then final grades
Should you experience any difficulties, please contact the Registrar's office at 905.721.3190 for assistance.
OCT Records
UOIT's Registrar's Office will send all final AQ/ABQ grades to OCT approximately six to eight weeks after the course is completed. OCT then updates the candidate's teacher record card. Candidates can go to the OCT website to view their updated record card.
Receipt of Payment/Tuition
The Accounting Office at Durham College and UOIT makes tax receipts (T2202A) (for the amount of tuition paid only) available to you at tax time only. If you require an official receipt prior to tax time, you will have to contact the Accounting Office to make arrangements. It is possibe that unofficial "receipts" or notices can be printed from your MyCampus Account using your banner (student) number and password.
If you have any questions about payment or receipts, please contact the Accounting Office at 905.721.3020. (Please note that the Faculty of Education does not have this information, nor can they hand out receipts).
