Candidates enrolled in this course have obtained the pre-requisite qualification course, Special Education - Part I. The AQ course Special Education - Part 2 extends the knowledge and skills of Part I. Critical to the delivery of special education is the ability of teachers to ensure positive learning experiences for students while providing candidates with more in-depth information and practise in special education. This course focuses on developing programs based on appropriate assessment for students identified as exceptional.
It also fosters discussion on important issues that culminate in a practical teaching project relevant to candidates. See OCT guidelines for more details about this course.
Prerequisite:
1. OCT Certificate of Qualification
2. Successful completion of Special Education - Part 1.
3. Proof that the qualification is noted on your Ontario College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification.
4. Evidence of at least one year of successful teaching experience in Ontario certified by the appropriate supervisory officer or proof of at least one year of successful teaching experience outside Ontario certified by the appropriate supervisory officer by submitting a Certificate of Teaching Experience
