The Additional Qualification course: Dramatic Arts, Part 2 provides candidates with a strong foundation and understanding of the vision and underlying philosophy related to Dramatic Arts, Part 2.
The Additional Qualification course: Dramatic Arts, Part 2 extends the knowledge and skills of Part 1 for all teachers in both elementary and secondary school. Critical to the delivery of Dramatic Arts, Part 2 is the ability of teachers to ensure positive learning experiences for all students. The course continues to focus on the theory and practice underpinning dramatic arts education.
The course supports the expectations outlined in the Ministry of Education's curriculum policy documents and other policies. It is an introductory course that focuses on the theory and practice underpinning dramatic arts education. The course explores the teaching and learning of the concepts, curriculum, program delivery and connections between dramatic theory and practice.
Although it is of particular interest to those wishing to teach drama as a subject, it is also an important introduction to all teachers who wish to deepen their knowledge of drama as an effective learning approach in all areas of the curriculum.
Prerequisite:
1. OCT Certificate of Qualification
2. Successful completion of Dramatic Arts - Part 1.
3. Proof that the qualification is noted on their
Ontario
College of Teachers' Certificate of Qualification.
4. Evidence of at least one year of successful teaching experience in Ontario certified by the appropriate supervisory officer or proof of at least one year of successful teaching experience outside Ontario certified by the appropriate supervisory officer by submitting a Certificate of Teaching Experience
