Course Formats and Scheduling
This page was last updated on August 16, 2010
These programs are entirely online and include rich weekly face-to-face meetings in a multipoint videoconferencing environment (AdobeConnect). Within this system, students get an opportunity to meet and speak directly with their professors and colleagues in full video and sound, and with multimedia sharing capabilities from their own homes, anywhere in the world.
In addition, many other affordances are used, such as WebCT for sharing of documents, blogs, discussion forums, and a dedicated e-mail system. Wikis and pod casts using UOIT's iTunesU account are also being introduced. Some courses are also making use of social media for increased discussions and for promoting the sharing of ideas and resources in a strong social-constructivist approach.
In summary, this program is designed to meet the needs of professional educators interested in not only studying Education and Digital Technology, but in also living the experience, wherever they may be.
