TechnoEdge 2009 "Technology Infused into Teaching"
The keynote "
Preparing Educators for the Classrooms of the Future" was broadcast live on April 23 at 9:20 am.
The keynote panel included Dr. Jim Greenlaw, Dr. Francois Desjardins and Dr. Lorayne Robertson discussing - the goal of UOIT's Faculty of Education, which is to encourage educators at all levels of the system to explore how new digital pedagogies can be implemented in schools.

The Dean, The Director of the B.Ed. program and the Associate Dean responsible for graduate programs in education described how UOIT is preparing pre-service and in-service teachers to teach in the classrooms of the future.
Jim Greenlaw provided descriptions of current classrooms where, for instance, grade 7 and 8 students are using wireless laptop computers in all of their courses. Lorayne Robertson provided examples of how e-learning approaches are infused throughout the pre-service teacher education programs in our Faculty of Education, and Francois Desjardins described the digital technologies that are going to be employed in UOIT's new graduate programs in Education.
