Faculty Advisor Profiles
Faculty Advisors allow for the success of our Field Experience program. This part of the consecutive and concurrent B.Ed. program requires that teacher candidates are supervised in the field and are appointed a Faculty Advisor for their placement. The Faculty advisor not only evaluates the teacher candidates in the classroom, but also makes regular contact with Associate Teachers, Principals and schools, along with intervening during difficult situations and assisting the teacher candidate in being a better teacher.
Some full time and part time faculty serve as Faculty Advisors, yet since we are still such a small faculty (with few full time faculty), we look to the community to hire excellent Faculty Advisors. Most are experienced teachers from the field, many with principal experience too. Their dedication to our program is commendable. They travel extensively, answer emails and phone calls and are the key liaison person between the schools and UOIT.
