Faculty Administration
Dr. Jim Greenlaw joined the Faculty of Education in June 2007 replacing Dr. Bill Hunter, who was the founding Dean. Pat Vale-Dougherty has been the Dean's Administrative Assistant since 2003.
Dr. Francois Desjardins is the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education. Dr. Desjardins joined the faculty in 2007 and was appointed Associate Dean in 2008. Working within the graduate program office is Kim Mitchell, Graduate Program Assistant (she joined the Faculty of Education as a part-time receptionist in August 2005, was promoted to full time reception in May 2006 and Graduate Program Assistant in June 2009).
Dr. Lorayne Robertson is the Director of the BEd program, taking over this position from Dr. Liesel Knaack who was the founding Director. Dr. Robertson joined the faculty in 2007 and was appointed Director in 2008. Working within the program office are Charlie Berger, Admissions Officer, appointed in 2008, and Erin Perchluk, BEd Program Assistant, appointed in 2008.
Ron McKelvey is the current Practicum Co-ordinator, a position held by Diana Petrarca from 2003 to 2006. Two Practicum Assistants also support Teacher Candidate placements: Nancy Papadimitriou and Lori Keilty.
Lori May was hired in July 2009 as our new Budget and Planning Officer, taking over the position formerly held by Nadia Jagar (January 2008 - June 2009) and Gaby Mann (August 2005 - December 2008).
Nick Scarfo came to UOIT in 2004-2005 school year as our Professional Development Co-ordinator. This program is supported by Susan Martin, who joined the faculty in 2008 as an administrative assistant.
Mike Prasad supports both the UOIT faculty and teacher candidates in the mobile learning program, providing workshops, training and onsite support.
