Pat Vale-Dougherty came to UOIT from North York General Hospital where she had been the Program Assistant for the Director of Clinical Genetics for many years.
She was hired in August 2001 shortly after Canada's newest university was announced by the Provincial Government. Pat assisted in the President's Office and that of the Project Manager for UOIT. Her role evolved over the next two years as the Deans and faculty were brought on and she worked to accommodate their administrative needs as well.
Pat worked closely with the Dean and Faculty of Education throughout the first year of the consecutive Bachelor of Education program. It was a very hectic first year but also very rewarding as the faculty and staff witnessed the 'first class' of Bachelor of Education teacher candidates graduate in June 2004.
