Connie is a retired educator from the Durham District School Board. During her career she taught a variety of grades in the primary, junior and intermediate divisions. For three years Connie was a Primary/Junior Consultant with responsibilities that included working with teachers in Oshawa schools, providing professional development opportunities, writing curriculum documents, and mentoring new teachers. During her last 13 years, Connie enjoyed administrative duties as both a Vice Principal and Principal. Her last assignment was as Principal, opening the new Fallingbrook Public School in Whitby. This was a wonderful opportunity and a rewarding way to end a successful career in education.
Connie has also been a workshop presenter and course leader in a variety of professional development opportunities both locally and provincially. She especially enjoys working with new teachers and new administrators. Mentoring and providing support to educators have been keen interests of Connie's throughout her career.
Recently, Connie assisted with interviews for teacher candidates interested in attending the teacher education program at UOIT. She enjoyed this new opportunity and was impressed with the faculty members. Connie looks forward to the Faculty Advisor role and assisting new teacher candidates.
When not at UOIT or in Durham schools, Connie can be found at her new home on Sturgeon Lake. She and her husband, Allen, look forward to many happy years living at this "little piece of heaven".
