Kevin is entering his third year with the Faculty of Education and teaches Contemporary Practice to all Intermediate/Senior candidates and Analysis and Management of Classroom Behaviour and Individual Needs & Diversity to Primary/Junior candidates. He has been an educator for 33 years and is recently retired. During his career he has worked in a number of roles. Kevin taught many grades, K-8, including special education, worked as a Vice Principal and for over 13 years as a Principal in a number of schools.
As well he also held school board central office positions. In 1999 he had the distinct pleasure of opening a new school. This school was recognized both provincially by the Ontario Knowledge Network for Learning (now E-Learning Ontario) and nationally by
Canada's School Net as a member of a select group of schools known as the Network for Innovative Schools for work in the integration of technology into instruction.
Kevin has always been involved in the delivery of professional development and has worked with practising teachers in a wide variety of areas. In addition he taught the Principals Qualification Program for over 6 years.
His most recent work was at the Ontario College of Teachers in the role of Manager of Accreditation where his responsibilities included the leadership of reviews of all programs of initial teacher education in
Ontario and the review and accreditation of all programs of additional qualifications delivered by Faculties of Education and other providers.
Kevin possesses a Bachelors degree from
York
University and a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from
Brock
University as well as a Supervisory Officers Certificate.
In his spare time he is interested in canoeing, kayaking, hiking and golf in the warm weather. Winter activities include curling, reading and working with wood. He is married to an educator and has two sons, both attending university.
