Donna has over 12 years of teaching experience in the Special Education field with a focus on adaptive instruction for students with behavioural, multiple and associative and general learning disability exceptionalities.
Donna has spent much of her Canadian teaching in Section 20 (Care/Corrections/Treatment) classrooms. She has also been an educator for Corrections Services Canada in Kingston, a SERT in the Upper Canada District Board of Education, and a Behavioural Therapist for the Ministry of Education in Bermuda.
In addition to her classroom role, Donna is currently a Special Education instructor for UOIT and a behavioural consultant for the Exceptional Learning Centre in Ajax. She has been a presenter at numerous professional conferences and coauthored an Alternative Education Program for the Ministry of Education in Bermuda.
In April, 2006, Donna won the Council for Exceptional Children award for teacher excellence in working with exceptional children. Donna is a Special Education Teacher for a Behaviour Intervention Classroom in the Durham District Board of Education
Donna will be teaching the Issues in Education elective during the 2009/10 year.
