OCT and Student VISAs
The successful completion of a Bachelor of Education degree at a Faculty of Education in Ontario does not guarantee eligibility for licensure to teach in Ontario by the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).
In order to be able to teach in Ontario, the Ontario College of Teachers requires international applicants to have one of the following:
- Canadian Citizenship,
OR
- Permanent Resident Card,
OR
- Work VISA (Work VISA must indicate that applicant is free of any restrictions to teach children. Note: A Work VISA is not the same as a Student VISA)
Please note that it can take a considerable amount of time to attain any of these items (
