Program Highlights
The BEd program at the UOIT Faculty of Education program has many special features, all designed to help prepare you for teaching.
The classes are small so that candidates have more individual support. The faculty use innovative teaching techniques, and of course, technology!
Here are some of these unique features!
A
laptop program that includes many software programs and resources geared to education.
Science Camp
:
A week-long exploration of hands-on Science!
Math Camp
: For I/S, a unique program introduction. For P/J, a series of professional workshops.
Program Start Days
in August - a unique orientation program for laptop training that includes "Grad Talk" sessions with former teacher candidates from our program and special Career sessions from UOIT Career Services.
An Observation Week
in schools for the first week of September.
Electives:
offered in the evenings on a range of educational topics.
Friday Professional Development days
offering programs such as:

Resumes and Interviews;

Classroom Management;
o
Social Justice; Safe Schools;
o
Federation visits and
o
many other interesting topics.
Many
additional teacher training programs are offered by our excellent faculty facilitators, such as the TRIBES program, Safe School certification, Crisis Intervention training, Canoe certification and others.
International placements
- optional, extra placements completed in an international setting.
