Bachelor of Education Degree Requirements (2010-2011) - Intermediate/Senior Program
The Intermediate/Senior Program starts mis August 2010 and will begin with a program orientation, laptop pickup and start of courses prior to Labour Day weekend. Attendance is mandatory. All teacher candidates go out into a classroom for their first placement (to see a first week in a school) in September. To be eligible for the BEd degree, students must successfully complete all listed credit hours, including all courses outlined below. These courses are subject to change without notice.
Semester 1
- Math Camp
- Core Curriculum Methods
- Contemporary Educational Practice
- Analysis and Management of Classroom Behaviour
- Learning and Adolescent Development
- Field Experience Course and Practicum I and II
- Curriculum Studies I (in first teachable subject)
- Curriculum Studies I (in second teachable subject)
- Learning with ICT
- At least 1 Elective per term to a maximum of 3 Electives.
Semester 2
- Science and Technology Camp
- Core Curriculum Methods
- Individual Needs & Diversity (Special Education)
- Information Literacy
- Analysis and Management of Classroom Behavior
- Field Experiece Course and Practicum III
- Curriculum Studies II (in first teachable subject)
- Curriculum Studies II (in second teachable subject)
- Science Camp (January 6-9)
- At least 1 Elective per term to a Maximum of 3 Electives

A variety of electives will allow you to address your own interests, including courses that prepare you for Ontario's Roman Catholic schools, and courses in advanced instructional design, dramatic arts, ESL, GIS/GPS, Issues in Education, Outdoor and Experiential Education, and Problem Based Learning.
